Hello everybody!

For those of you enjoying the summer holidays, I hope you're making the most of it! Back to school soon for most of you! Time to get some hardcore gaming done perhaps? Or is it homework left until last minute? :P

Recently you may or may not have seen the maintenance notices around the site.. Well, most of it is complete and that's mostly what this news article is about! It effects every member here so it's worth a read!

New features:

Facebook Connect! - For those of you who have already registered, this is quite irrelevant, but we know as well as you do that NOBODY likes registering on websites - it's a chore at best, and takes up valuable gaming time! So now, at the click of a button, you can be registered here at TazGames via your facebook account! You can choose your own desired nickname when registering via facebook, or just put in your real name, that's totally up to you!
Referral Links! - Refer your friends to TazGames and earn points! Now, you can refer your friends to any game on TazGames with a unique link that is given to you below every game you play. If a friend clicks on that link and actually plays the game on the page, then you will receive points for it!
Social Network Sharing Icons! - Earn points by sharing a game on your favourite social networking websites! Below every game you play, you will see icons linking to facebook, myspace, and other social networking websites that most of you use. If you click on one of these icons you will be directed to a page on that social networking site where you can share a link to that game with your friends.
ReCaptcha! - On the standard signup page, we have now installed a reCaptcha function which will deter spambots from registering. Okay, what does this mean to you? Well, the less space they use up, the more games we can provide you with, and ultimately; the faster the website will be!
Newsletters! - Users can now choose to receive free occasional newsletters via email! This will include exclusive news and offers, and best of all - you will be told about upcoming features, and get sneak previews! So go ahead and opt-in to the exclusive newsletter now, by editing your profile and ticking the newsletter option!

Many of you have been wondering what you earn points for, and how many, etc.

Well, over the coming days, we will be adding a points page, explaining how you earn points, how many points you earn for different things, how we detect and act against cheating, and how you will be able to use points. So stay tuned for that!

A nice new layout!

Hello TazGamers!

It's been a while since any news was written here so this seems an appropriate time to make some!

As you will have noticed, there's a nice new layout to the website!

Along with making the website more colourful and pleasant on the eyes, there are now two category columns on the homepage making navigation and viewing a lot easier.
There is also a new sidebar module containing the latest game comments. Be sure to make good use of this, as it may lead to you discovering one of our many great games - How? Well if someone leaves a comment saying how brilliant a game is, chances are it's worth checking out!

If you notice any glitches / bugs in the new design, ie; things not lining up or displaying properly, please send a private message to Chuckun.

TazGames Toolbar!

Today brought the release of our community's browser toolbar!

It will work on both Internet Explorer and Firefox, and will offer you many functions to keep you in touch with TazGames and help you find your favorites!

The toolbar offers high functionality and special behind-the-scenes alerts straight to your browser that are for our toolbar users only!

Once we have a larger amount of people using the toolbar, we can focus on adding more communal functionality like chatting features, and other exciting new features!

TazGames has had a makeover!

Welcome back!

We're proud to be back in action once again, with a totally new look and many more features!

Here's what's new:

Firstly, the news feed! Here you will be kept up to date with all the inside-info about what's going on at TazGames, and when new stuff is added, it'll be listed here!
Totally new user profiles! You now have many more features to play with, from avatars to a favourite games list. Go take a look! (You'll need to be registered.. It's quick and easy if you're not registered already, just click register at the top of the page!).
Messaging system! You can now send messages to your fellow gamers!
A whole new set of games! We figure that games arcades are an amazing boredom cure for many - so we thought that to keep the same old games just would not do. We now have a nice fresh collection of over 1,200 games for you to play! We hope you like them!
"Points" system - you can now earn 'points' by being an active member! Earn yourself some medals, etc. And in the future, there are going to be more uses for these points ;) "Like what?" - well now that would be telling!
Featured Games - Try something new! Every so often the featured games section will be updated. Be sure to try out all the featured games, they're hand picked!

Other things to be aware of:

All inactive users have been deleted! If your account has been removed and you want it back then please feel free to contact us and we will have it restored.
This site is running on an entirely new system, so your experience should be a lot smoother and more enjoyable!
Unregistered people now have to register after 50 game plays.

Future updates:

TazGames is kept totally free because the adverts cover the costs of the server. We know that adverts can be annoying, which is why in the near future, registered members will see far fewer adverts once they've logged in. We appreciate loyal members and would like to give something back!
Adult games category. For this you will need a profile to clarify you are of age.
